(To determine the water resistance level of waterproof finished goods)
|
B-1 Method(High water pressure method)
|
| Testing Procedure |
| (1) |
Prepare 3 test specimens of about 15 cm
x 15cm. |
| (2) |
Place the test specimen face down on the
Water Resistance Tester*1 for high water pressure. After that put and fix
a porous aluminium board over it. Fill the cylinder of tester with water
at normal temperature. |
| (3) |
Turn the piston steering wheel at a rate
of 1 kg/cm2 in 1min to increase the water pressure*2. After that, leave
it for 1min. Remove the porous aluminium board when the water pressure has
dropped and check for any water droplet on the reverse side of the specimen.
Repeat this procedure by increasing the water pressure gradually*3 and check
for any water droplets on the reverse side of specimen at each occasion.
Take the water pressure reading when water droplet appears on the specimen
(to 1/2 graduation). However, for laminated polyurethane foam finished goods
the reading is taken when water starts to permeate the foam surface. |
| (4) |
Express the water pressure result (up
to 2 decimal places) by taking the average of 3 tests (kg/cm2) conducted
above.

Water Resistance Tester for High Water
Pressure

| *2 Set the initial water pressure at 4
kg/cm2. |
| *3 It is preferable to gradually increase
the water pressure by about 0.5 kg/cm2. |
